Running Commentary on the 2008 Season
The One More Time Marching Band officially began its 2008 season on Saturday, June 21, at the Brownville Pioneer Parade (followed by a mini concert at Pioneer Park). The folks in Brownsville were treated to lots of great music, including
Singin' in the Rain, Washington Post, Irish Guard, Hey, Good Lookin', Mickey Mouse, Louie Louie, Colonel Bogey, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Looney Toons, and Hogan's Heroes.

We followed up by playing at the Ems Game on June 23.  The Ems lost, but we have a chance to redeem ourselves with another Ems gig on Sept. 2. Then it was off to Creswell on July 4 for a marathon march followed by a great get-together at Anne O'Connell's home.  More of the same in Cottage Grove ... a shorter march, a very satisfying short concert in the bandstand, and then on to Corlinda and Michael's place for pizza and potluck.

Then a new experience, the Emerald City Roller Girls "Track Town Smack Down."  A challenging gig -- upbeat tempos, crazy lights and acoustics, and many many distractions.  Also a ton of fun. For the good of the order (and our four-footed friends) we played the "Rover Romp" at Greenhill Humane Society and came up with a new signature tune ("Modern Band Cheers #1" with the yip-yip-yip yip-yip-yip woof ending).
